"I am fortunate that my company has grown from mid 2008 - mid 2010, despite The Great Recession. When I joined PAC in 2008, I believed that my business was ready to go to the next level, and I was anxious to build a sales team around a sales manager I was looking to hire. I thought my PAC group would give me the support and feedback I needed to make the best possible hiring decision.
What I got was much different than what I had expected. The other Presidents in the group challenged my decision to recruit a Sales Manager. They said I wasn't ready because I didn't have a structured Marketing Plan in place to provide my sales team the best chance of success.
Frankly, I was a little hurt. I was preparing to make an offer to a dynamic (and expensive) sales person who, I was convinced, would help me. However, upon reflection, I took the advice. I committed to writing a Marketing Plan. During that process, it became increasingly clear to me that I was doing the right thing, and that the advice I got from my peers was correct.
Today, in mid 2010, I am now prepared to build my sales team, and have the complete support of my peers at PAC. I am convinced that, without their feedback in 2008, I would have made a bad decision that would have cost me some six-figure amount and set my growth plans back by at least a year.
It was not easy for me to open myself up to the group's challenge. I don't like feeling vulnerable.
But, I'm glad I did.
If you are a President of a company, as I am, I hope you are not thinking about your important
decisions in isolation. I believe it's critically important that you get impartial perspectives on the strategic issues you face.
PAC has provided that for me."

"Dear Nick:
As a President of a high-tech manufacturing company, I am always interested in
learning new ways to improve my business. One of the key things I have
experienced as a PAC member is that I learn something at each and every PAC
meeting and PAC Speaker Event. I realize that the benefits of PAC membership are
cumulative with time. As fellow PAC members became more familiar with my
business, their ability to provide good advice significantly increased.
My
fellow PAC members have helped me think through a variety of strategic options
as I consider new products and applications. I regularly come to the group with
new product ideas, and the group challenges me in a constructive and very
helpful way. I come away from these sessions with a lot of clarity about how I
want to proceed. I also greatly enjoy the PAC Speaker Series. Over the last few
months, I have attended events that spoke to Cost Reduction and Compensating
High-Performance Management Teams. Once again, I learned a great deal in a
relatively short period of time. I am currently using fellow PAC members as an
advisory board as I develop new strategies to increase my company’s valuation.
Finally, PAC is a great source of referrals. Recently, I had the need for tax
consulting and human resource advice. My PAC Leader and fellow PAC members
offered me several qualified candidates that helped me reach a decision more
quickly and efficiently than I otherwise would have.
I strongly recommend PAC membership to any business leader to improve their
strategy in increasing the value of their company. PAC is an invaluable resource
that provides a truly unique experience towards building a highly successful
organization."
